Air Tanzania Introduce New Flights To Zimbabwe and Zambia

Air Tanzania Zimbabwe Zambia flights

Tanzania’s national air carrier Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has recently introduced new direct flights from Dar es Salaam to Harare in Zimbabwe.

The airline’s Airbus A220-300 will fly from Julius Nyerere International Airport to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport three times a week.

It will then continue its journey to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka.

Tanzania’s Minister for Works, Transport and Communication, Isack Kamwelwe commented that ATCL is determined to increase the number of flights to African and Asian nations.

For his part, Zimbabwe’s Minister for Environment and Tourism Prisca Mupfumira said that the resumption of the route reinforces the socio-economic relations between the two countries.

The thought was shared by Zambia’s acting Minister of Transport and Communications, Kafwaya Mutotwe who believes that an eventual direct route will further promote business, tourism, trade, and investments between Zambia and Tanzania.

Flights connecting Dar es Salaam with Lusaka, and Harare, were in the recent past provided by low-cost African carrier Fastjet.

However, the company struggled to make the routes profitable and terminated them.
