The trading week ending on Friday 25th October 2024 at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a strong increase in total turnover and volume compared to the previous week.

Turnover and Volume

During Week 43 of 2024, the DSE recorded a total turnover of TZS 6,778.03 million from 7,301,632 shares traded.

This represents an increase of 36.18% in total turnover and 256.76% in volume traded compared to the previous week, which saw a turnover of TZS 4,977.24 million from 2,046,632 shares traded.

Market Capitalization

At the close of Week 43 of 2024, the total market capitalization and domestic market capitalization of listed shares at the DSE amounted to TZS 18,247.51 billion and TZS 12,171.19 billion, respectively.

This reflects an increase of 0.73% and 0.08% compared to the previous week’s close figures of TZS 18,114.84 billion and TZS 12,160.78 billion.

Bond Market

During week 43 of 2024, the bond market recorded transactions worth TZS 80.89 billion, representing an increase of 28.07% compared to TZS 63.16 billion the previous week.

Indexes

At the close of Week 43 in 2024, the All Share Index (DSEI), the Tanzania Share Index (TSI), and the Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) showed an increase in value, while the Industrial & Allied Index (IA) experienced a decrease for the second consecutive week. The Commercial Services Index (CS) remained flat once again.
