Istanbul Kilimanjaro Zanzibar Istanbul Flights

As of December 13th, 2016, Turkish Airlines (BIST:THYAO) launched a new route from Istanbul to Zanzibar (Istanbul-Kilimanjaro-Zanzibar-Istanbul), which will be operated three times per week.

Flights to and from Zanzibar will be operated on Mondays, Wednesday and Saturdays.

Ahmet Olmustur, Chief Marketing Officer of Turkish Airlines, said that the airline is delighted to launch the route to Zanzibar as it is seeking opportunities to expand its network.

Ali Karume, Zanzibar’s Minister for Infrastructure, Communications and Transport, said that the launch of the new route will open tourism and trade opportunities between Turkey and Zanzibar.

Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier of Turkey and the fourth largest carrier in the world by number of destinations, as of 2014.

The airline now flies to 293 destinations around the world, 50 of which are in Africa, including Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, Djibouti and Kigali, among others.
