The trading week ending on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a significant increase in total turnover compared to the previous week

Turnover and Volume

During Week 41 of 2024, the DSE recorded a total turnover of TZS 4,542.59 million from 3,168,625 shares traded.

Most of the trading activity took place on Friday 11th October 2024, with a daily total turnover of TZS 3,017.76 million.

This represents an increase of 131.93% in total turnover and 12.10% in volume traded compared to the previous week, which saw a turnover of TZS 1,958.58 million from 2,826,458 shares traded.

Market Capitalization

At the close of Week 41 of 2024, the total market capitalization and domestic market capitalization of listed shares at the DSE amounted to TZS 17,892.17 billion and TZS 12,176.73 billion, respectively.

This reflects an increase of 0.24% in total market capitalization and 21% in domestic capitalization compared to the previous week’s close figures of TZS 17,848.37 billion and TZS 12,150.15 billion.

Bond Market

During week 41 of 2024, the bond market recorded transactions worth TZS 48.57 billion, representing a decrease of -58.10% compared to TZS 115.92 billion the previous week.

Indexes

As of the close of Week 41 in 2024, all indexes showed gains compared to the previous week’s closing. Industrial & Allied (IA) demonstrated the strongest growth at 0.36%
